Inter midfielder Christian Eriksen will start tomorrow’s Europa League clash against Bayer Leverkusen on the bench tomorrow, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The report details how coach Antonio Conte has decided to change the formation back to a 3-5-2 from a 3-4-1-2, removing the need for a trequartista for the moment, and so for now the 28-year-old Dane will be on the bench. The numbers back up the former Spurs midfielder, who has scored twice and assisted once in his three Europa League appearances for the Nerazzurri this season.

Despite his upswing in form, Conte still prefers to return to his tried and tested formation, the report continues. The 51-year-old Italian coach is desperate for a win against Bayer Leverkusen tomorrow evening, as winning the Europa League would give him some space from critics. The Dane is still set to be an important part of the Nerazzurri project moving forward.
