Inter took off from Milan Malpensa Airport this morning for Dusseldorf, where they will face German side Bayer Leverkusen in the Merkur Spiel-Arena tomorrow evening in the Europa League quarterfinals, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

The report details how, should the Nerazzurri beat their Bundesliga opponents tomorrow, they will stay in Germany and await UEFA’s instructions, rather than rushing home to the Lombardy capital, like what happened after their win over Spanish side Getafe last week.

The semi-finals of the competition would be played on Monday 17th and coach Antonio Conte would have preferred to bring his squad back to Milan to take a short break and prepare for that game.

Instead, the Nerazzurri will be forced to remain in Germany, the report continues. Yesterday morning, all members of the squad and staff who departed for Dusseldorf tested negative for the Coronavirus and will have a short training session this evening.
