Inter linked defender David Alaba discussed his future briefly in an interview with German broadcaster Sky Sports Deutschland yesterday, after the Bavarian club’s 4-1 win over Chelsea in the Champions League.

“Am I thinking about the future? No, my goal is something else, I’m focused on the Champions League. I don’t let myself be distracted by all these traps.”

It seems as if the 28-year-old Alaba is open to renewing his contract with Bayern Munich soon, with his current deal set to expire at the end of next season.

The Austrian, who has been with the Bundesliga giants since 2010, is being followed by many top clubs around Europe, from Manchester City to Paris Saint-Germain, Inter, Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Alaba has made 39 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 3423 minutes. In that time, he has scored two goals and provided two assists, spending the majority of the season in a centre back role instead of his preferred left back.
