Inter and Brescia are to meet next week for talks over Sandro Tonali according to a report from Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.
Inter already have an agreement in principle with Tonali’s agent Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Bozzo over personal terms for Tonali with Inter having offered a five year contract with an annual salary of €2.5 million plus add-ons.
Brescia want a sum of €35 million for Tonali but the transfer formula remains to be found and Inter hope to be able to reach an agreement in the meeting with Brescia, which could be postponed slightly depending on how Inter fare in the Europa League.
Inter like the idea of doing a loan with obligation to buy deal for Tonali whilst it is understood that Brescia would rather receieve the transfer fee all in one and immediately.
Inter are currently in the lead and have no intention of allowing others to overtake them in the race to sign Tonali, who is widely regarded as one of the best Italian prospects out there at the moment.
AC Milan have shown an interest in signing Tonali but are lagging behind and the report goes on to explain that Juventus have not made any offers for Tonali as of yet.
In fact the report states that no contact has been made between Brescia and the Bianconeri. It is for these reasons Inter are ahead and are confident about their chances of wrapping up a deal to sign him.
The report concludes that Inter cannnot afford to hang about with negotiations though as Brescia president and owner Massimo Cellino is known to try and get clubs into a bidding war for his players.
