Inter manager Antonio Conte has told the squad of his plan on how to overcome Bayer Leverkusen tonight according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Tuttosport.
Inter are due to take on the Bundesliga club in the coming hours and as per the report, Conte has told the team that they must remain compact, must not concede the first goal and must be patient because sooner or later chances will come their way, due to Bayer Leverkusen’s defence.
Going all the way and winning the Europa League would certainly increase Conte’s stock at the club ahead of his meeting with Inter president Steven Zhang at the end of the season to discuss his future in charge after relations were seriously damaged following his most recent public outburst.
The report from the Turin based news outlet goes on to explain that if Conte and Inter part ways, the Nerazzurri club will look to appoint Massimiliano Allegri as his replacement.
