Inter striker Romelu Lukaku is close to repeating the first season that Ronaldo had with Inter according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Belgian national team striker has scored 30 goals across all competitions to date this term and needs four more to match the tally that Ronaldo managed in his first season with the club back in 1997/98.

In addition to needing four goals to match Ronaldo, Lukaku also needs to win the Europa League like Ronaldo did in his first campaign with the club.

Inter are currently in the quarter finals of the Europa League and the report from the Milan based news outler goes on to point out that from this stage onward, Ronaldo scored four goals. It now remains to be seen whether history will repeat itself and Lukaku will manage to score four more goals and also lead Inter to Europa League glory.
