Inter and Atletico Madrid have both tested the waters via intermediaries when it comes to signing Chelsea’s Marcos Alonso according to a report from Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.

Chelsea are looking to add a new left wing-back to their ranks and the arrival of one will see one of Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri leave Chelsea.

Of the two players, Chelsea manager Frank Lampard would rather sell Brazilian born naturalised Italian Emerson Palmieri.

The report goes on to explain that Inter manager Antonio Conte appreciates Alonso’s talents and it also states that Chelsea want in the region of €30 million for the former Fiorentina player.

Alonso is one of a number of names who Inter are considering for left wing-back with the aforementioned Emerson Palmieri plus Atalanta’s Robin Gosens both also under consideration by the Nerazzurri club, who are keen to reinforce at left wing-back having added Achraf Hakimi to bolster the right wing-back department.
