Inter manager Antonio Conte is convinced about  being able to overtake Juventus next season according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

Conte is due to meet with Inter president Steven Zhang at the end of this season for talks over his future and Conte is expected to ask to be given more powers in certain areas and although Zhang is unlikely to fully oblige, the idea of being able to dethrone Juventus is pushing Conte toward staying.

Juventus parted ways with Maurizio Sarri and replaced him with the inexperienced Andrea Pirlo and Conte thinks that with the right reinforcements in the transfer window, Inter can overtake the Bianconeri.

The report goes on to explain that if Conte is to accept the club’s conditions, such as no more public outbursts, they will be happy but if he does not, Inter will ask him to step aside by either resigning or coming to a mutual agreement to terminate his contract.
