Inter are interested in signing Manchester United centre back Chris Smalling according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper La Repubblica.

The Englishman spent the 2019/20 season on loan at Inter’s fellow Serie A side Roma and it is understood that the capital city club are keen on signing him on a permanent basis.

Inter are keen on signing Smalling and are ready to give manager Antonio Conte another experienced player to bolster the squad in the upcoming transfer window.

The report from the Rome based news outlet goes on to explain that Inter could look to take advantage of the good relations that they have with Manchester United to try a get a deal done for Smalling.

In the past year or so, Inter have signed Romelu Lukaku, Ashley Young and Alexis Sanchez from the Premier League side and it now remains to be seen whether a deal can be agreed for Smalling.
