The uncertainty surrounding Inter manager Antonio Conte’s future in charge has blocked the contract renewal of Borja Valero according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

Following a recent public outburst, Conte’s future as Inter manager is right up in the air and due to this, Inter do not wish to proceed with contract renewal talks with Valero until things are solved.

Valero is out of contract in a few weeks time and reports in the media have suggested that Inter are open to handing him a one year contract extension until the end of the upcoming season.

At the beginning of the season, Valero signing a contract extension seemed very much like a far fetched idea but the veteran Spaniard has proven himself during the campaign and has featured regularly since the season got back underway in June.

This season the former West Bromwich Albion player has made 25 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored three goals.
