Inter have confirmed that attacker Alexis Sanchez has sustained a strain in his right hamstringy via an official statement posted on the club website.

The Chilean national team player sustained the injury in Monday night’s Europa League quarter final win over Bayer Leverkusen and the club have further confirmed that his condition will be further evaluated in the coming days.

Inter have not provided a timeline for return for the former Barcelona and Arsenal star who recently completed a permanent move to Inter on a three year contract following a successful loan spell from Manchester United.

Some reports in the media have suggested that Sanchez will miss Inter’s upcoming Europa League semi final clash with Shakhtar Donetsk but it ultimately remains to be seen whether or not he will be recovered for that match or the final provided Inter reach it.

This season Sanchez has made 31 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored four goals and provided 10 assists for his teammates.
