Alexis Sanchez’s condition will be examined today according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Inter attacker sustained a thigh strain in his right thigh in Monday night’s Europa League quarter final victory over Bayer Leverkusen and the tests will determine whether Sanchez will be able to return for the Europa League final, should Inter make it that far.

The Chilean national team player is almost certain to miss this coming Monday’s Europa League semi final against Shakhtar Donetsk but he could well be back for the final on August 21 depending on what the tests show.

Sanchez spent the majority of the 2019/20 season on loan at Inter from Manchester United and following their Europa League last 16 win over Getafe, the former Barcelona player completed a permanent switch to the club on a three year deal.

This season the 31-year-old has made 31 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored four goals and provided 10 assists for his teammates.
