Inter central midfielder Nicolo Barella is in the running to be named the UEFA Europa League player of the week following this weeks quarter final action.
The Italian national team player scored Inter’s first goal in their 2-1 win over Bayern Leverkusen at the Merkur Spiel-Arena on Monday night, had an 80% pass accuracy and played generally well in the match against the Bundesliga club.
Barella is competing with FC Copenhagen goalkeeper Karl-Johan Johnsson, Shakhtar Donetsk’s Taison and Sevilla’s Lucas Ocampos.
Johnsson had the game of his life as FC Copenhagen forced their match with Manchester United into extra time before losing 1-0. He made 13 saves in the match.
Taison meanwhile scored one of Shakhtar Donetsk’s goals in their dominant 4-1 victory over FC Basel on Tuesday night and Ocampos scored Sevilla’s only goal as they squeezed past Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Voting is ongoing and Inter fans can vote for Barella via clicking here on this link.
