Bayer Leverkusen’s Edmond Tapsoba could not deal with Inter striker Romelu Lukaku in last night’s match between Inter and Bayer Leverkusen in the quarter finals of the Europa League according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Lukaku and Tapsoba went head to head with one another from pretty much the first whistle but the young defender was simply unable to stop and control Lukaku. Tapsoba trembled every time the ball and Lukaku came near him when his defensive partner Jonathan Tah was not close by.

Lukaku scored his 31st goal of the season across all competitions following a battle with Tapsoba in the penalty box. The Belgian national team player held Tapsoba off and still managed to finish the ball despite falling to ground.

Later on in the game Lukaku outmuscled Tapsoba who fell to the ground and Lukaku went on to finish but the goal was disallowed as the referee judged Lukaku to have fouled Tapsoba.
