Chris Smalling will be the first player Inter go in for if Milan Skriniar departs the club according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Skriniar is no longer seen as a key player in Inter’s defence and there is no shortage of interest in his services from Premier League clubs.

In the event that the Slovakian national team defender departs the club, Inter’s first target to replace him is Manchester United defender Smalling, who is fresh from a good loan spell with Inter’s fellow Serie A side Roma.

Manchester United have placed a €20 million price tag on the head of the Englishman.

The report from the Milan based news outlet goes on to state that Inter are also keeping tabs on Hellas Verona youngster Marash Kumbulla.

The Italian born Albanian national team player has an evaluation of €30 million and Inter face competition from Lazio.
