Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Taison has labelled Inter the strongest team left of the four still in the Europa League ahead of coming up against them on Monday night in the semi final stage of the competition.

“We have to prepare well for a great match, for the semifinal with Inter. It is essential to prepare well for the next match. Inter are great, they are strongest team in the tournament, and it will be very difficult,” the Brazilian explained to the media following their 4-1 win over FC Basel last night in the quarter final stage of the competition.

Taison, who has been with the Ukranian powerhouses since 2013, then went on to share his belief that there is no favourite in the upcoming match and either side can come away with the victory and advance to the final, which will be played on August 21.

“We need to be more prepared than ever. We didn’t come here to rest. All the players, of course, dream of reaching the final. I think there is no favourite in the match. Two strong teams will meet and anyone can win. We are preparing for a difficult match.”

In conclusion Taison spoke on his phsyical condition ahead of the match at the Merkur Spiel-Arena against the Nerazzurri: “I felt a little pain in my leg but I’m fine. We came here to play and I will continue to do so.”

This season the 32-year-old has made 37 appearances across all competitions to date. In his time on the park, which totals just over 3000 minutes, Taison has scored 11 goals and provided a total of 10 assists for his teammates.
