Negotiations between Inter and Barcelona over Lautaro Martinez are at a standstill according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia journalist and transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio.

Barcelona have been courting the highly rated 22-year-old for a considerable amount of time now but have been unable to meet Inter’s demands for him and as per Di Marzio, they are unable to make an offer for the former Racing Club player until they sell multiple players to raise adequate funds.

“Negotiations with Barcelona are on standby. The Catalans have to sell two, three or four players to be able to make incoming transactions. Until that moment they cannot present a serious offer to Inter,” Di Marzio revealed whilst present in the studios of Sky Sport Italia a short while ago.

Di Marzio also spoke briefly on Christian Eriksen’s future with the club which has been questioned given his inability to make the desired impact on a consistent basis since his arrival: “He only arrived in January, I have received no signals or indications that he will leave that he will depart.”

Since joining Inter on a four and a half year deal from Tottenham Hotspur back in the January transfer window, Eriksen has four goals and three assists in 24 appearances to date.
