Real Madrid have identified Inter’s Milan Skriniar as a potential long term replacement for Sergio Ramos according to a report from the online edition of Spanish news outlet Don Balon.
Ramos’ contract with the club is due to expire at the end of the upcoming season and with him now 34-years-old, the time has come for Los Blancos to find a player capable of leading their defence in the future.
Skriniar has become disillusioned with Inter coach Antonio Conte having fallen down the pecking order in recent weeks and Real Madrid hope to be able to take advantage of the Slovakian’s anger and sign him, the report concludes.
Prior to signing Eder Militao, Real Madrid had enquired about the availability but dropped their interest when Inter told them they want no less than €100 million, the report continues.
However a year on, things have changed and Inter could let Skriniar leave the club for little over half of that amount. The report also explains that Ramos has given Real Madrid his blessing to find a replacement for him.
