Christian Eriksen has become Inter’s twelfth man according to a report in yesterday’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

Eriksen has had back-to-back good performances off the subtitutes bench in the Europa League matches against Getafe and Bayer Leverkusen, especially in the latter where he receieved great praise in the media for his efforts in his 30 minutes on the park.

Part of the reason for Eriksen’s upturn in form is Danilo D’Ambrosio being played at right wing-back. Due to D’Ambrosio being more defensively minded than either Victor Moses or Antonio Candreva, Eriksen feels he has his back covered and can do more to make a difference.

Being the second most experienced Inter player when it comes to European competitions has also certainly made a difference with only Diego Godin having appeared in more games in European competitions.

The Danish national team player joined Inter on a four and a half year deal back in the January transfer window and although he initially struggled, his recent performances could well represent a turning point for him and his Inter career.
