Former Udinese manager Julio Velazquez has shared his belief that Juan Musso is ready to make a move to a club like Inter.

The Argentine shot-stopper has been one of the best goalkeepers in Serie A since he arrived two years ago and he has been heavily linked with a potential move to Inter, who are on the lookout for a long term replacement for ageing current number one Samir Handanovic.

“Musso is a really extraordinary guy. When he arrived in Udine he was a very strong goalkeeper, but today he is even more so,” he explained in an interview with Italian news outlet CalcioMercato.com.

“He is at the level of being able to be a starter in the Argentine national team and beyond. We have had faith in him and we played him immediately. Thanks to the work done with the goalkeeping coaches he became very strong.”

In conclusion he was then asked whether he believes Musso is already a better goalkeeper than Handanovic is or not.

“The Inter goalkeeper is still one of the best goalkeepers in the world today, but I believe that Musso can have the same career and is ready to play in a big club like Inter or in any other team in Europe.”

Since joining Udinese from Superliga Argentine side Racing Club in the Summer of 2018, Musso has went on to make 68 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has kept an impressive tally of 21 clean sheets.

During the 2019/20 season, the 26-year-old, who is contracted to the Bianconeri until 2023, kept 14 clean sheets in 39 appearances.
