Inter striker Lautaro Martinez needs to return to form to help the club win the Europa League this season, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.
The report details how the 22-year-old Argentine striker struggled to impress against both Getafe and Bayer Leverkusen in earlier parts of the competition, but must do well in the remaining two games to help the club win the trophy.
Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez is suffering from an injury and so Lautaro has the chance to be the hero, playing alongside partner Romelu Lukaku.
Lautaro could follow in the footsteps of two other Inter players who have redeemed themselves, the report continues. The first of these is Italian midfielder Roberto Gagliardini, who has almost always started for coach Antonio Conte’s squad since the restart of the season, with the second being veteran Diego Godin, who has finally started to impress in a back three.
