Italian Media Claims Inter Coach Antonio Conte Wants Roma Captain Edin Dzeko As Romelu Lukaku’s Back-Up

Inter are still in the running to sign Roma striker Edin Dzeko this summer, who may leave the club this summer amidst the change of ownership, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

The report details how Inter coach Antonio Conte wants to sign the 34-year-old Bosnian striker as backup to Belgian forward Romelu Lukaku, appreciating the player’s physicality and experience on the pitch.

Dzeko wants to meet with the club’s new management before making a decision, especially considering that his third child will be born in September.

If he stays, he will earn around €7.5 million a season, the report continues. The club’s management are looking to strengthen their attacking department this summer and may look to replace Dzeko with Napoli forward Arkadiusz Milik, although he would cost around €50 million.

Dzeko has scored 19 goals and provided 14 assists in 43 appearances this season, across all competitions.
