Former Roma and AC Milan coach Fabio Capello discussed Inter’s Europa League semi-finals clash against Shakhtar Donetsk tomorrow evening and next season’s Serie A title race in an interview in today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

“I predict Inter in the final. Shakhtar are a team that plays football very well, they have great quality in the midfield and up front but in defense they leave something to be desired and at the moment Inter defend well and in attack, with the ball to Lukaku, they manage to make the difference.”

He touched on the relationship between the 27-year-old Romelu Lukaku and 22-year-old Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez.

“By the way, Lukaku is very good with Lautaro and he manages to put his devastating physical strength at his team-mate’s disposal.

“I have to say that in my opinion he finds life easier in Italy because there are no other defenders as powerful as him, who are able to contain his strength.”

Finally, Capello spoke about the Serie A title race next season and who can beat off Juventus for the league title.

“I think that Inter will be Juventus’ real opponent in the title race.”

Inter are in their first European semi-finals since the Treble winning campaign tomorrow evening, in a game of the upmost importance to coach Antonio Conte.

The 51-year-old Italian coach is desperate to win the competition, especially considering the key meeting he will have with the club’s management at the end of the season to discuss transfer market objectives and his future with the team. The Nerazzurri’s opponents in the final will either be Premier League side Manchester United or Europa League experts Sevilla.
