Inter striker Lautaro Martinez will start alongside Romelu Lukaku against Shakhtar Donetsk tomorrow evening, with the club hoping to see a return to his pre-lockdown form, according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sportmediaset earlier today.

The report details how Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez is currently suffering from thigh problems after suffering an injury in the 2-1 win over Bayer Leverkusen, giving Lautaro the chance to start alongside the 27-year-old Belgian. The 22-year-old Argentine striker has struggled to impress since the restart of the season, only scoring twice, disappointing compared to Lukaku’s eight in the same period.

Lautaro is remaining focused on the challenges ahead, the report continues, and isn’t willing to think about a new contract or the interest from Barcelona until the end of the season. The player has made 47 appearances across all competitions so far this season for the Nerazzurri, for a total of 3436 minutes. In that time, he’s scored 19 goals and provided six assists.
