Emerson Palmieri is Inter’s primary target as they look to reinforce at left wing-back according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
Chelsea are ready to finalise a deal for Leicester City’s Ben Chilwell and the Englishman’s arrival would give the green light to Chelsea to let Emerson depart.
Emerson is surplus to requirements at the London based club and Inter have been courting him since the most recent January transfer window and will make their move for him after their Europa League campaign comes to an end.
Juventus have also shown an interest in the Brazilian born Italian national team player but it is unclear what their stance on Emerson is now following the sacking of Maurizio Sarri and appointment of Andrea Pirlo.
Juventus could perhaps go in for Emerson in the event that Alex Sandro is sold but the current delay could be an advantage for Inter.
Chelsea initially demanded €30 million for the former Roma player but now he has fallen down the pecking order that pricetag is destined to drop.
The report from the Milan based news outlet goes on to state that Inter’s second choice is Emerson’s Chelsea teammate Marcos Alonso.
