Inter and AC Milan will decide which of the two new stadium projects to proceed with just shortly according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

At the end of September, the two clubs will choose the winning project between the projects put forward by The Populous Group and the joint project from Manica and CMR Sportium.

The Nerazzurri and Rossoneri clubs are expected to invest in excess of €1 billion between them on the new stadium project which will include a new state of the art stadium and will also see the surrounding area completely revitalised.

The two teams’ current home, San Siro, is to be almost entirely demolished as part of the new stadium project with what remains of the historic stadium going to be incorporated in some way.

As part of the new stadium project, the clubs intend to build commerical space, restaurants, hotels and offices among other things.
