No club in Europe has competed in more continental finals than Sevilla have in the 21st century according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

This coming Friday’s Europa League final against Inter will be the Spanish side’s 11th continental final in the past 20 years, a record not even Real Madrid, who famously won multiple Champions League titles in a row can match.

In addition to 10 continental competition finals already this millenium, Sevilla have also featured in eight domestic football finals between the Copa Del Rey and Spanish Super Cup.

In short, Sevilla are certainly not lacking in experience when it comes to being in finals, especially Europa League finals with them having won the competition five times in the past 15 years. Sevilla won the Europa League three times in a row between 2013/14 and 2015/16.

Sevilla versus Inter is scheduled to kick off at 21:oo local time on Friday night at FC Koln’s RheinEnergieSTADION.
