The match official appointments for this coming Friday’s Europa League final have been announced with Danny Makkelie assigned to referee the match between Sevilla and Inter.
The Dutchman has refereed 36 games across all competitions to date this term, including Inter’s Champions League group stage loss away to Borussia Dortmund. In his 36 games refereed, the 37-year-old has dished out a total of 107 yellow cards and 10 red cards.
Makkelie’s assistant referees for the match at the RheinEnergieSTADION will be Mario Diks and Hessel Steegstra, who are both also Dutch whilst the fourth official will be Anastasios Sidiropolous from Greece.
Jochem Kamphuis, another Dutchman, will be in charge of VAR. He will have three assistants, Tomasz Sokolnicki and Pawel Gil, both from Poland, and Kevin Blom, another Dutchman.
Friday’s final will pit five time winners Sevilla against three time winners Inter and the game is scheduled to kick off at 21:00 local time in Cologne, Germany.
