Inter are through to the final of the Europa League, their first European final in a decade, after demolishing Shaktar Donetsk at the Merkur Spiel-Arena in Düsseldorf 5-0.

The Nerazzurri started the match very controlled and careful, not conceding much space and being very weary of Shakhtar’s attacking prowess, always waiting to pounce on a counter attack.

Samir Handanovic – 6,5: Didn’t have anything to do in terms of saves except for 1 half chance but instead he did well in the build-up phase.

Diego Godin – 7: He says himself that he’s beginning to understand what Conte wants from him, that’s not true. He already understands it fully.

Stefan de Vrij – 8: The most elegant and intelligent central defender in the Serie A continues to run his defence with Beckenbauer class. What a player.

Alessandro Bastoni – 7: Yet another very good performance by the youngster who plays beyond his years. An absolute gem of a player.

Danilo D’Ambrosio – 7,5: Another stable performance by Double D completely nullifying Shakhtar’s right wing and scoring yet another header to make it 2-0.

Roberto Gagliardini – 6: Offers defensive stability with his physique and positioning but offers nothing going forward. The worst Inter player. Yet again.

Marcelo Brozovic – 6,5: Struggled with simple passes much to the dismay of Romelu Lukaku who was visibly annoyed several times with the Croatian.

Nicolo Barella – 7,5: Missed a little too many simple passes to be able to receive a higher rating but his attitude and approach to games is impeccable.

Ashley Young – 6,5: Very stable and safe performance defensively by the former Man Utd player who wasn’t as sharp when going forward as he usually is.

Romelu Lukaku – 8,5: There are no superlatives left to describe Big Rom. Scored another brace bringing his tally to 33 and looks as unstoppable as ever.

Lautaro Martinez – 9: Vintage El Toro performance. Phenomenal from start until he was brought off in the 81st minute for Christian Eriksen. World class.

Cristiano Biraghi – 6: Brought on the 66th minute for Ashley Young & didn’t make much of a mark on the match as the game was virtually over.

Victor Moses – 6: Replaced Santo Danilo in the 81st minute when the match was virtually over.

Christian Eriksen – 6: Came on in the 81st minute for the Man Of The Match Lautaro Martinez. Wasn’t much for him to do as the match was over.

Sebastiano Esposito – N/A: Substituted on in the 85th minute coming on for Romelu Lukaku. Didn’t play long enough to be able to be rated.

Stefano Sensi – N/A: Was brought on in the 85th minute replacing Marcelo Brozovic. Didn’t play long enough to be able to be rated.

Antonio Conte – 10: Outclassed, outfought and out-thought his Shakhtar counterpart. A perfect match in every aspect from preparation to execution.

Szymon Marciniak – 7: Good performance by the Polish referee and his team of officials. Got every major decision right and kept a consistent level throughout.

Inter – 10: Perfect performance. Did everything right from the first second until the last which means first European final in 10 years. Complimenti.
