Lautaro Martinez could more than double his current salary with a contract renewal at Inter according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Il Giornale.

The Argentine national team player has been heavily linked with a potential move to Barcelona for a considerable amount of time but the chances of him ending up there seem to be reducing.

Inter could hand the highly rated 22-year-old a two year contract extension which will extend his contract with the club until 2025 and the Nerazzurri club could give him a salary of €6 million a year, which is more than what he currently earns.

The former Racing Club player joined Inter in the Summer of 2019 in a circa €20 million deal and this season has been his first as a regular starter at San Siro. In 48 appearances across all competitions to date, Lautaro has scored 21 goals and provided seven assists for his teammates.
