Lionel Messi is staying silent with regards to his plans for the future according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Messi and his father have both recently purchased property in the city of Milan which has fuelled rumours that he could be headed to Inter, who have been linked with a move for him alongside Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain.

For the time being there have been no confirmations from Inter’s leaders with regard to a pursuit of Messi and there is unlikely to be any confirmation in the coming days either as Inter are focusing entirely on the Europa League final.

Messi has not said whether he wishes to stay with Barcelona or leave them and it is understood that Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu is hopeful that Messi does not have the strength to come out and explicitly ask to leave. The war of nerves is there for all to see.

The report goes on to explain that at Paris Saint-Germain, Messi could be reunited with former teammate Neymar and join a team equipped to win the Champions League.

At Manchester City, Messi could be reunited with former manager Pep Guardiola, who is seeking revenge on the European front after several poor years in the Champions League.

The report goes on to conclude that Inter are focusing on the Argentine national team attacker’s desire to find new enthusiasm.
