Inter president Steven Zhang could follow in the footsteps over former Inter president and owner Massimo Moratti if Inter win the Europa League tomorrow night according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

Moratti’s Inter picked up the Europa League, then known as the UEFA Cup, three years after he took charge of Inter in the 1997/98 season as Inter ran out comfortable 3-0 winners over fellow Serie A side Lazio in at Parc des Princes in Paris.

This was his first of many trophies at the Nerazzurri and it could be the case that the same competition will be the first that Zhang’s Inter win too.

The report from the Rome based news outlet goes on to explain that Zhang is greatly enthusiastic about the current moment.

The report also states that following the Europa League final, regardless of the outcome, Zhang will meet with Inter manager Antonio Conte to discuss his future as manager of the club, which has been thrown up in the air after a public outburst. Whilst nothing can be taken for granted, the feeling is that neither party wants to separate.
