FC Luzern sporting director Remo Meyer has revealed that highly rated youngster Darian Males is not training due to being engaged in talks with several clubs.

The Swiss youngster, who is capable of playing as an attacking midfielder, winger and striker, has been linked with a whole array of clubs in recent weeks and months with Inter, Atalanta, Valencia and Juventus all having been linked with him in various reports that have circulated in the media.

When asked by Swiss news outlet 4-4-2.com why Males has been exempted from training, Meyer explained that it is “so that he can hold talks with other clubs.”

During the 2019/20 season, 19-year-old Males played regularly and made his first team breakthrough for the Swiss Super League outfit.

Males, who has a further two years left on his current contract, made 21 appearances across all competitons at senior level during the season and during his time on the park, which totalled just shy of 1200 minutes, he scored two goals and provided a total of four assists for his teammates.
