Inter manager Antonio Conte and club president Steven Zhang will meet after tonight’s Europa League final according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Tuttosport.

Conte’s future is up in the air due to his comments that he made following Inter’s Serie A season finale against Atalanta a few weeks ago.

A truce was reached between the club and manager on the basis that a meeting will take place at the end of the season where all things can be discussed.

Conte’s bargainning power is now very strong and he will ask for several things to be done as he looks to raise the bar. He wants players signed, the corporate side of the club improved and other sectors improved where he feels there can be more excellence. Conte also wants a direct line to the owners and a unanimous sharing of objectives.

Given this, it will not be easy for Zhang (and Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta) to mend the relationship with Conte which has become frayed.

In the event that Conte does not get what he asks for, he could well leave Inter and settle for a severance payment. In a worst case scenario, Inter could launch a lawsuit against Conte for just cause due to his comments.

The report goes on to conclude that in the event Inter and Conte go their separate ways, Suning will call upon former Juventus manager Max Allegri, who is keen to get back into football after a one year sabbatical.
