Inter coach Antonio Conte’s future is in his own hands, as Inter settle on a position ahead of the meeting with the coach next Tuesday, according to a report from Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio earlier today.
The report details how the meeting has been scheduled to see if it’s still right for Conte to hold the role going into next season, after public complaints towards the board for multiple issues, from investments to media protection. A key part of the meeting will be the area of transfers, with the 51-year-old Italian having clear ideas on what reinforcements need to be made, even if they deviate from the Nerazzurri’s vision.
Inter will look to sign players that Conte wants, the report continues, but will not be able to make significant investments due to the Coronavirus pandemic and the financial ripples succeeding it. The club have already heavily invested in Achraf Hakimi and so need Conte to understand the situation. Should the 51-year-old remain stubborn, it will be up to him to stay or go. Should he leave, former Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri is the favourite to replace him.
