Barcelona want to know the future of star Lionel Messi in the next 10 days, before the start of pre-season training at the start of September, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper la Repubblica.
The report details how the 33-year-old Argentine forward is unhappy with the board at the club and has indicated that he wants to leave Catalonia to play elsewhere.
President Josep Maria Bartomeu has set a 31st August deadline to understand Messi’s future, and if the player is clearly unhappy after that then the team will listen to offers around €200 million.
Considering his incredibly high wages, Messi is only being targeted by the top clubs in the world. In the lead is French side Paris Saint-Germain, who are hoping to field an attack of Neymar-Messi-Mbappe next season.
Another club interested in acquiring the player in Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, who are looking to win next season’s Champions League to make up for the disappointing exit this year to Lyon.
Finally, Inter are also interested in signing Messi and have been dreaming of it for four years now, when the Suning group took over the club.
