A report from Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset has suggested that Inter have no intention of dismissing coach Antonio Conte next week.

The report details how the 51-year-old Italian coach, despite his complaints directed at the board and vague comments made in the media yesterday evening, isn’t set to be dismissed by the Nerazzurri’s management next week. Conte earns around €12 million net per season and is contracted to the club until 2022, so sacking him would burden Inter economically. Inter have already dealt with that recently, after firing Luciano Spalletti to make space for the former Chelsea and Italy coach.

If Conte wants to leave, he’ll have to do it on his own, the report continues, and resign, something he did at Juventus in 2014. The 51-year-old Italian coach’s first season in charge of the Nerazzurri saw guide the club to second in the league, second in the Europa League and knocked out in the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia by Napoli.
