A report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport has suggested that Inter’s 3-2 loss in the Europa League final against Sevilla could be coach Antonio Conte’s last in the job.

The report details how the 51-year-old Italian coach’s words in the post-match interviews yesterday seemed to suggest that an early farewell is on the cards. Conte will meet with club president Steven Zhang and CEO Beppe Marotta next week to discuss market objectives and his future, and this could be the meeting that decides the Italian coach’s future at the club.

Inter’s top choice to replace Conte is former Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri, the report continues. The 53-year-old Italian has taken a year off after leaving the Bianconeri at the end of the 2018/19 season, but is now expected to return amidst links to multiple top clubs. Marotta knows Allegri well and the duo may look to replicate their successful Juventus foundations at Inter as well.
