Inter striker Lautaro Martinez is Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola’s number one target to be the long-term replacement for Sergio Aguero, according to a report from English tabloid the Sun earlier today.

The report details how Catalan side Barcelona have long been interested in the 23-year-old Argentine striker, but have failed to make a decisive lunge for the player. The English side aren’t looking to fight for Lautaro’s signature and would be willing to pay €111 million for him, his former release clause. The English side would look to fund the deal by selling some players.

Lautaro’s form has dipped since the interest from Barcelona first became public, and the 23-year-old failed to impress in the Europa League final yesterday, which saw the Nerazzurri lose 3-2 to Sevilla. The player made 49 appearances across all competitions this season for the club, for a total of 3595 minutes. In that time, he scored 21 goals and provided seven assists.
