Inter will look to replace coach Antonio Conte with former Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri should the former leave the club next week, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Biasin, as reported by Italian media outlet FcInter1908.it.

“Inter did not like or understand Conte’s position and are waiting for clarifications on Tuesday. In any case, the club wants to make a decision by Friday. If Conte’s demands are deemed exaggerated, then Allegri will be the one to be relied upon.”

Conte wants guarantees from the club regarding certain transfer targets and has specific players in mind that fit his tactical system perfectly. Unfortunately, often his targets are aging experienced players, whilst the Nerazzurri’s management has more of a preference to sign younger players with more potential.

In next week’s meeting, transfer market objectives will be a point of discussion and Conte will need to understand that significant investments cannot be made due to the Coronavirus pandemic and the financial ripples succeeding it. Should Conte leave the club, then Allegri is the top target to replace him, in a similar situation to what happened at Juventus in the summer of 2014. Allegri went on to win 11 trophies in five years with the Turin based club.
