Inter coach Antonio Conte wanted to dispel the idea of the ‘crazy Inter’ earlier in the season but instead may end up leaving next week, according to a report from Italian journalist Luigi Garlando in his column in today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
The report details how the 51-year-old Italian coach has been unhappy with the management’s failure to protect him and the squad in the media, with examples being Marcelo Brozovic’s two incidents in Milan earlier this summer, which both instantly became public knowledge. He is also unhappy with the leaks at the club, especially regarding the threat and bullet he received in the mail in November, which he didn’t want to be reported publicly.
Inter have grown a lot under Conte and he worked hard to dispel the ‘crazy Inter’ idea, the report continues, and with a few reinforcements in midfield could genuinely look to win next season’s league title, but Conte would need to swallow his pride and understand that large investments cannot be made this summer. Max Allegri is ready to take over but Conte’s departure would be confusing, considering the results and work he’s put in this year.
