Inter are already better than Juventus and were better than opponents Sevilla in Friday’s 3-2 Europa League final loss, according to a report from Italian journalist Mario Sconcerti in yesterday’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Corriere della Sera.

The report details how the Nerazzurri squad yesterday were visibly tired and players who had previously been in strong form, like Roberto Gagliardini and Lautaro Martinez, failed to impress in the final against Sevilla. The game clearly showed the Nerazzurri’s squad depth issues, as more rotation throughout the final stages of the season would have allowed coach Antonio Conte to field a fully fit team.

The game was more in Inter’s favour than Sevilla’s, the report continues, and the fact that the Milanese club conceded two goals from headers shows that the defense were in disarray. The loss also showed that more growth is needed, both mentally and physically, if the team are to compete with Juventus for next season’s league title.
