Inter are close to confirming the deal for Brescia starlet Sandro Tonali, but may have to worry about losing team manager Gabriele Oriali should coach Antonio Conte leave the club next week, according to a report from Italian journalist Alfredo Pedullà on Twitter earlier today.

The report details how the 51-year-old Nerazzurri coach will meet with the club’s executives in a meeting next week on Tuesday to discuss transfer market objectives and his future with the team. Conte has expressed his unhappiness about certain issues publicly in the media, first complaining about a lack of protection from the media and then about how the threat situation was handled back in November.

Should Conte leave the club, team manager Oriali is likely to leave with him, the report continues. The 67-year-old Italian joined the Nerazzurri last summer to work with the former Chelsea and Juventus coach and so their fates are tied, at least for now. In better news for Inter fans, the deal for 20-year-old Italian midfielder Tonali is close to being finalizing, with a date being set for the meeting.

Pedullà described the situation on Twitter, saying: “The position of Oriali is pretty close to that of Conte. The meeting to close the deal for Tonali remains confirmed.”
