Former Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri remains the favourite to take over the Inter job should Antonio Conte depart, with alternatives also being lined up, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The report details how the 53-year-old Italian, who has taken a year off of management after leaving the Bianconeri last year, is tipped to replace Conte, should the Nerazzurri coach decide to resign next week after meeting with the club’s management. The former AC Milan and Juve coach has been in contact with Inter for a few weeks now and isn’t worried about the short amount of time he’d have available in pre-season.

Other options to replace Conte include Bologna coach Sinisa Mihajlovic and Sassuolo coach Roberto De Zerbi, the report continues, but neither are as liked as Allegri. Should the Livorno born manager arrive, transfer market objectives are likely to also change, with players like Radja Nainggolan potentially available to return to the squad.
