Italian Media Report €50M Valued Skriniar’s Position At Inter Would Be More Secure If Conte Left But He Wants Guarantees

Inter defender Milan Skriniar’s future at the club would be more secure should Antonio Conte leave the head coach role next week, but he still wants guarantees, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

The report details how the 25-year-old Slovakian defender, who is contracted to the club until 2023, seemed like the player most likely to be sold for a high price by the Nerazzurri this summer in order to fund other investments, but only because he didn’t fit well in coach Antonio Conte’s system. With Conte’s future currently in doubt, Skriniar could still find a home in Milan.

Potential replacement Massimiliano Allegri would switch to a back-four, which better suits Skriniar, the report continues, and so it’s likely that the 53-year-old Italian coach would use the player regularly. The player wants guarantees about his playing time and security at the club, otherwise he’d rather move elsewhere. Tottenham are interested in him and are willing to pay a fee close to €50 million for his signature.
