Despite Roma’s imminent appointment of Morgan De Sanctis as their new sporting director, the Giallorossi are still hoping to sign Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio, who may leave due if Antonio Conte stays with the club, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The report details how the Giallorossi are incredibly keen to acquire the 48-year-old Italian, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2022. He will be present at the meeting with coach Antonio Conte and the Nerazzurri executives next week and may be asked to leave the club should the Nerazzurri decide to move forward with the 51-year-old Italian coach, who isn’t a fan of Ausilio.

If he does leave Inter, Ausilio would accept Roma’s offer, the report continues. The Roman club contacted him in the last few days but he wants to see what will happen to Conte first before making a decision.
