Inter manager Antonio Conte and club president Steven Zhang will most likely meet tomorrow to hold talks over his future at the club according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Conte will be back in Milan today and Inter’s management will take stock of the situation. Although the meeting is most likely going to take place tomorrow, the report refuses to rule out the possibility of the meeting being brought forward to tonight.

Sacking Conte is not a viable option for Inter, even if the Nerazzurri’s current budget is now ‘free’ from Luciano Spalletti’s salary.

President Zhang will ask Conte to explain the reasons behind his two outbursts in Bergamo and Cologne and listen to what Conte has to say.

Depending on the distance created between the parties, if there is, it will then be necessary to understand if it will be possible to bridge the gap.

It will also be made clear that Inter do not have much in the way of funds given the important investment they have made to sign Achraf Hakimi and negotiations for both Sandro Tonali and Marash Kumbulla both already being well underway.

The rest of Inter’s transfer window will depend on what sales are made. Marcelo Brozovic and Milan Skriniar could be sacrificed unless Barcelona meet Inter’s demands for Lautaro Martinez.

The report goes on to explain that there is a mutual feeling of fatigue in the relationship and this certainly does not faciliate coexistence.

Conte feels that he has not been protected during his first season in charge given what made it out in the media, especially the recent Max Allegri rumours, whilst Inter’s management have been publicly attacked on several occasions and are skeptical about a possible truce which could prove to be decisive.

The report concludes that there has been no confirmation of the rumours which have suggested Inter and Allegri have agreed a two year deal worth €7 million a year.
