Mauricio Pochettino could succeed current Inter manager Antonio Conte according to a report from Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.

Conte is set to meet with Inter president Steven Zhang to discuss his future with the club and it remains to be seen what will happen at the meeting although it will be decided that Conte will stay or go at it.

In the event it is the latter, it will not come cheap for Inter who will need to pay some €50 million to cover Conte and his staff’s salaries, a sum that the Nerazzurri club cannot afford today. Inter and Conte could however reach an agreement over severance pay which could save them money.

If Conte leaves, the main candidate to replace him is Massimiliano ‘Max’ Allegri, who previously replaced Conte at Juventus. Allegri who is currently out of work due to taking a sabbatical year is not alone though with Pochettino, who is also out of work after leaving Tottenham Hotspur, in the running.
