In today’s print edition, Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport have questioned whether Inter manager Antonio Conte’s future could be impacted by his recent loss in an alleged investemt scam.
Conte alongside several other high profile people were allegedly conned into making investments by a former HSBC employee who claimed that the investment bank were in on the investments being made. HSBC however were not involved whatsoever and as a result Conte has lost a sum of €30 million.
Conte is still under contract with Inter until the end of the 2021/22 season and will earn a total of €24 million net by then. Conte’s Inter future is however widely up in the air due to his recent public outbursts and it remains to be seen if the money lost via the alleged scam will have repercussions on his future as manager of the Nerazzurri club.
In his first season as manager of Inter, Conte managed Inter in 53 matches across all competitions to date, of which he won 32, drew 12 and lost nine.
