If Massimiliano ‘Max’ Allegri takes charge of Inter, he will use a 4-3-1-2 system according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Tuttosport.

Allegri has been heavily linked with taking charge at Inter in recent weeks due to the uncertainty surrounding current Inter manager Antonio Conte’s future with the club.

By using a 4-3-1-2 system, Christian Eriksen could be improved and the strike partnership of Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez could continue, provided Lautaro stays with the club amid ongoing speculation linking him with a potential move to Inter.

Allegri used the 4-3-1-2 system whilst in charge at Cagliari with Radja Nainggolan an integral part of that side. Nainggolan is still under contract with Inter until 2022 and the report explains that he could become a wildcard who could be utilised in various midfield roles.

The report from the Turin based news outlet explains that due to Allegri’s flexibility, it may not be just Nainggolan who gets another chance at Inter. Ivan Perisic, who is currently out on loan at Bayern Munich, may also get another chance.
